Turnitin Announces Global Innovation Awards 2016 Winners

The California based giant EduTech venture on academic plagiarism checking, Turnitin, has announced the winners of the 2016 Turnitin Global Innovation Awards recently.

Fifty-eight educators in twenty-one countries recognized for their dedication and innovation in academic integrity and student engagement through this awarding, says a web releases. Turnitin chose winners across seven global regions who excel in one of three categories: academic integrity, student engagement and writing improvement from the Overall Global Innovator, Africa & Middle East, Asia, Australia & New Zealand, Higher Education, Australia & New Zealand, Secondary & Further Education), Europe, Latin America & Caribbean, North America, Higher Education, North America, K12, United Kingdom Higher Education, United Kingdom Secondary & Further Education, the web release says.

An international panel of academics and previous winners selected this year’s winners from a record 500 nominations from nearly 50 countries. This year’s Global Innovator Award winner is Princewill Odum, Turnitin administrator and Lecturer in Remote Sensing & GIS from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. From Asia, Academic Integrity Award and Student Engagement Award were given to Kashif Karim, Aga Khan University Hospital, Pakistan and Alex Banks, Handong Global University, South Korea respectively.

The other, the Global Innovator Award, recognizes one overall winner and champion of best practices for academic integrity and student engagement through the use of Turnitin in training, professional development, support, and collaboration.
